Process schematic design and project support

Schematic Design Project Synopsis:

APECS provided 3rd party engineering analysis and process design support for a commercial scale cellulosic ethanol plant. Design efforts were focused on process improvements and cost savings options. APECS modified design basis documentation, Aspen models, P&IDs, mass balances, and developed procurement specifications for process package systems as part of the schematic design. Unit operation analysis included improvements to bulk solids handling systems, pretreatment and digestion, saccharification, fermentation, distillation, thin stillage, wastewater treatment, Clean-in-Place systems, and raw material/final product tankage.
