APECS performed full service design for the material handling and potent compound containment on new active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) process implementations in an existing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

The projects consisted of material handling and containment for new and existing facilities for a pharmaceutical manufacturer. The projects were time and budget constrained requiring high value / quickly implemented solutions. The solutions included the following devices:

• Down flow booth for powder and drum handling designed for 50 micrograms/cubic meter
• Glove box for product dryer discharge, product packaging and sampling designed for 1 micrograms/cubic meter
• Glove box / split butterfly system for raw material reactor charging designed for 1 microgram/cubic meter
• Glove bag for dryer scraping designed for 1 microgram/cubic meter
• Charging bag for raw material reactor charging designed for 100 microgram/cubic meter
• Continuous liner system for dryer discharge designed for 1 microgram/cubic meter
